The Bible has got just the answer
for us “Keep your Eyes on Jesus” it is that easy… right?
Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ, No
one else.
Let us run the race that is set
before us, looking unto Christ Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2
Illustration:
“At the Good Will Games
in Gdimonton, Canada, the Jamaican team was participating in the 4x100- meter
relay. Those in the third leg of the race, all had friends competing in another
race nearby on the same day. Now, while the sprinter was waiting for the baton,
he looked up for a moment to try to see how his friend was doing on the other
event, right?… understandable yeah! Big mistake, instead of focusing, and guess
what? In the next moment, his partner who was to hand over the baton to him to continue
the race, came up to him with the baton, guess what happened? He crashed into
the waiting sprinter looking up at the display screen… Needless to say the
Jamaican lost because one of their runners was looking at someone else.”
Hello, who are you looking at? Christ or other
Christians?
“The church is like a
spiritual hospital; its members/ patients are in different stages of treatment
or recovery, with the aim of becoming whole and better to finally be with
Christ, be it your G.O, Imam, leader, Pastor, Rev. members, etc…. so when you
look to Christians, you will sometimes be disappointed- but not when you look
to Christ, Never.”
One
day, Jesus Christ told Peter what type of death he would suffer, and the next
thing Peter did was to ask of how John would die. Another person’s manner of
death, another person…John Chapter 21:20-22 (please
read before you proceed to understand the context, we all have bibles on our
phones now so please…thank you) ….and you know our witty Jesus Christ, in his
Wisdom, responded ‘ what is that to you? You follow me (John Chapter 21:20-22)
Have you ever watched a
team rowing in the Olympic Games? They can’t see the finish line because they
have their backs to the finish line so they keep their eyes on the captain, He guides
them, he motivates them, he keeps them focused, he encourages them, he shouts,
yes , but only in love, he shouts row row row! He gives them a cadence and
keeps them on track. The word for you today is – keep your eyes on Jesus alone.”
How do we do this? Read about him in the
bible, how do you know anyone? You study them, you look them up on face book,
you talk to them and they talk to you, it’s no different with Christ Jesus.
Please leave your
wonderful suggestions in the comment section.
We look forward to your
question and inputs to better our lives.
